A few weeks ago we reported on the flying robot inspired by a jellyfish, yeah, you read that right, and now more details on its creation have been released.
Cool Hunting were lucky enough to get to visit the NYU Fluid Dynamics Lab where it was developed to find out how this robot was developed.
While initially a flying robot inspired by a water dwelling creature may seem odd, but mathematicians and physicists often view air and water both as fluids in terms of flight and aerodynamics, as described by Leif Ristroph, a professor of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics to Cool Hunting. Through this insight research and experiments based on the movements found in nature in these environments.
